Islands of Plastic We Couldn't Unsee

After walking on floating islands made entirely of plastic, and witnessing the devastating legacy of our collective consumption, we vowed to create a company where nothing has to go in the trash.

The Plastic Alarm Is Sounding

More Plastic than Stars

The beauty industry alone generates more pieces of plastic packaging than there are stars in the Milky Way Galaxy - over 100 billion pieces of plastic packaging every year. Zero Waste Week

More Plastic than Fish

The amount of plastic in the ocean is expected to double in the next 15 years, and by 2050 there could be more plastic than fish in the sea (by weight). World Wildlife Fund, WWF

Plastic in What We Eat

Microplastics are in salt, beer, fresh fruit and vegetables, and drinking water. Some studies report we could ingest as much as a credit card’s worth of microplastics every week. World Wildlife Fund WWF and National Geographic

Nearly Zero Plastic

After several material analyses, extensive research and exploration, we are thrilled to bring you premium skincare packaged in Aluminum bottles and jars.

Lightweight Material Means Less Travel Footprint

Aluminum is a wickedly lightweight and durable material, which is probably why NASA uses it to build space shuttles. When an item weighs less, it takes less energy (carbon) to transport.

Doesn't Break Like Glass or Degrade Like Plastic

Aluminum dents, it doesn't break and is an excellent material for reuse which is why we purposely leave spaces empty on our jars and bottles so you can label them for a second life.

Higher Recycling Rates than Plastic and Glass

U.S. recycling rates for plastic are as low as 5%, which means we need to rethink our relationship with single use plastics fast. In our opinion, Glass is always a much better packaging option than plastic, but it's still not recycled as much as Aluminum.
